Percy Price was born July 4, 1983. Given that patriotic date, many who know him say he was born to serve his country.
Percy joined Enterprise in August 2007 and currently serves as an Account Representative in Stone Mountain, Georgia, just east of Atlanta. At the same time, he has served in the United States Air Force for nearly 13 years, currently as a technical sergeant in the Cyber Transport division. Percy’s unit repairs and sustains voice, video, data and cryptographic network equipment. He was deployed to Southwest Asia in November 2013 and air defense of the Arabian Gulf is his unit’s main priority.
“My unit has been overseas several times since 9/11, but surprisingly, this is my first deployment,” says Percy. “We are basically computer and communications networking specialists, and while I love my military job, I miss my family, my Enterprise colleagues and my Tennessee Vols football.”
Percy’s unit typically gets sent out for six-month assignments, but due to lack of personnel, he will help with the next rotation until close to the end of the year.
Since his deployment, Percy has received an overwhelming amount of support from his fellow Enterprise colleagues. Before he left, the Atlanta office threw him a big send-off party complete with patriotic decorations. They followed up with care packages at Christmas that included some of the comforts of home including snacks, clothes, books, magazines and games to pass the time.
“Percy is an unbelievable employee and an even better person,” says Rental Management Manager Lou Randolph, Percy’s supervisor in the Atlanta office. “He embodies everything Enterprise stands for. He’s hard-working, dedicated to serving his clients every day and just an absolute joy to work with. We hated to see him go, but we’re all so proud of him, and the team has really enjoyed supporting him during his deployment.”
With Percy celebrating his birthday on July 4th, his colleagues just shipped him another round of care packages to get him through the summer and fall.
“The support I’ve received from my Enterprise colleagues has really meant the world to me,” says Percy. “I shared the Christmas care packages with many of my fellow soldiers, and they were equally amazed by the support. I’m proud to serve in the U.S. Air Force, and I’m equally proud to work for Enterprise.”
