An eye-opening experience
A little over a year ago, Jake I. and Matt F. were working on generating interest in Enterprise careers among those studying to be professional technicians. “Looking at the volume of cars we need to maintain in the business, we knew we had to increase our applicant flow,” says Matt, Service Center Manager.
As Talent Acquisition Specialist, Jake got the ball rolling last summer – inviting advisors and job placement staff to see our state-of-the-art 10-bay service center at Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
“We’re really trying to open people’s eyes to the scope of what we do,” Matt says. “People don’t often realize how many makes and models we repair and just how many cars we service. There are so many advantages to working for Enterprise, including the way we measure overall productivity and quality,” Matt says.
To make a splash while showcasing the types of cars technicians might get to work with at Enterprise, Jake and Matt even brought a Corvette to a recent career fair at the Universal Technical Institute in Dallas.
Hard work pays off
Since last summer, the Dallas Operating Group has hired more than a dozen UTI techs for its Dallas service centers.
UTI students picked the company as a nominee in two prominent award categories: “Top Place to Work” and “Recruiter of the Year.” Jake won an honor in the second category – the 2019 Recruiter Responsiveness Award.
